A little better all the time...

I love that now when people ask me how I'm doing and I say "livin' the dream," I'm not being sarcastic.  I honestly enjoy Connecticut and the Bevin House a little more every day.  Every day is like a scavenger hunt to find as many beautiful moments as I can.  Whether I'm cleaning a room...

reading by Lake Pocotopaug at sunset...

even getting up early to make breakfast.

Today after work I decided to drive out toward Wadsworth Falls again.  Discovered a nice little swimming spot and met some delightful people.

I've been bringing a book (The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare) along for the ride just in case I find pretty spots to sit for awhile and read.  And since I only had a few chapters left, I decided to finish the book in Wethersfield, where the story takes place.

This is Wethersfield Cove.

I also drove through Historic Wethersfield, which is much bigger than I realized on my last trip there.  There are some amazing houses and it is possibly the most charming town I've found so far., (and that's saying something).

Got some groceries for some really fun breakfasts (we have guests staying for 6 nights in a row, so I've got to get a little more creative :)  And tomorrow after I finish I'm hoping to drive up to Roseland Cottage for... get this...a Victorian Fair.

Saying Goodbye...

I am writing this post almost 3 years after I took this picture, of a bouquet my lovely friends in my writing group gave me as a fare...
